If you can’t find it, create it.
Texas Haynet is rooted in rescue. Both our founder and current President are lifelong horse owners and have devoted much of their lives to animal rescue. Their mission in life is simple, help people take better care of their animals.
In 1997, our founder established a rehabilitation center for horses suffering from laminitis, navicular, and various other ailments. She typically housed about 10 foster horses at a time which necessitated switching to round bales to keep hay cost down.
Fast forward to 2001, feeding hay became more labor intensive and expensive as drought sent hay prices soaring. Slow feeders were still a young concept, and she couldn’t find a slow feed hay net for round bales anywhere on the market.
So, she took matters into her own hands and made her own from a couple of soccer nets. Word in the local community spread and she began making a few here and there for friends as time allowed.
By 2010, she decided to take her creation to the next level and developed a prototype for mass production. By 2011, she had perfected the original design and began selling them online.
In 2015, we expanded our product line to offer hay nets of all shapes and sizes. At the same time, we made the decision to bring our manufacturing home to the USA.
In 2017, we invested in a bigger facility and moved our operations from Texas to Mississippi. That move helped us grow and expand our retailer network in ways we never imagined.
In 2022, we launched our hay net recycling program. A program that allows consumers to trade in old, worn-out nets for new ones. We send the old nets to a recycling facility which keeps them out of our oceans and landfills where they can take 30+ years to breakdown.

Today we continue to honor our founder’s passion for rescue by giving back to a different rescue each month. Our Rescue of the Month program is takes place on social media and allows our followers to choose which rescue will receive a round bale hay net.
